This is how it should have sounded. Having the technique to play twice as fast says she is a good technician, never a good musician. And I hate that dress. Musicians prefer to let the music sing rather than have you concentrate on body parts. ruclips.net/video/Aag4IrbIRkM/видео.htmlsi=7vgmyEo-1091jOLL

If Chopin played his music, he would have played just like this....

He could be really erratic in concert, often winding up the tension too much. But this is really fantastic. All of the tools used to make a brilliant edifice.

For me this is the perfect performance. Newer pianists only want to sound different, and sacrifice the soul of the piece. Here you can clearly see Horowitz is channelling from elsewhere…

I'm don't agree with Horowitz's style on all pieces, but on this one he hits the mark in a unique way. As usual his octave runs are un paralleled and he is able to make the piece sound different than the standard performances.

Unbelievable performance of this "crazy" work! But the craziest passage is certainly the "ostinato" between bars 83 and 102,(here 2:57 to 3:35) which I have never been able to understand! What was Chopin trying to say to us?

I prefer Chopin’s nocturnes and ballades compared to the polonaise; however, I agree with the other comments; this is a truly incredible performance.

He wrote this arrangement in the 1920s and he played variations of it throughout most of his concert career. The 1968 Carnegie Hall recording which was live was one of the best and the transcription of the music is available.
